 We absolutely loved our real estate agent, Charlie Hallam- his demeanor is laid back and kind. He was a contractor for 22 years in LA doing high end homes so he has a great knowledge about houses and costs of renos. But now he has been a realtor up in the mountains for 17 years. Don't let his laid back demeanor fool you though- he is beyond on it, detail-oriented, thorough, and always working for you. He showed us 21 houses in 3 days- was willing to drive all over the mountains- we met him on a Friday and made an offer on the house we bought 6 days later. Escrow was so smooth and he is always available on email or the phone. I was calling him non-stop for the first 3 weeks and I never once got his VM. Can't say enough good things about him.

 Charlie was very instrumental in facilitating the process of selling my vacation home and vacant lot next-door. Charlie possesses attributes of tenacity; patience; and compassion: key components of his modus operandi as a real estate broker. Actually, it was I who caused a delay in the sale of my home and vacant lot. Ironically, that delay— coupled with Charlie not pressuring me to list the property sooner— allowed me to sell the house for $30,000 over the asking price. Charlie was also instrumental in obtaining various individuals who helped prepare the exterior and interior of the property for sale and replace some appliances. Which brings me to another point: Charlie’s background in general contracting was extremely helpful in ensuring that the repairs and replacements were done correctly— and the price of this work was not done at an exorbitant cost. Charlie also possesses a firm working knowledge of real estate in the mountain communities. When the property was finally listed, Charlie obtained the buyer in one weekend. As I mentioned above, Charlie exhibited compassion in this house sale because it was emotionally a very difficult decision on my behalf. My parents built this house and purchased the adjacent lot almost 6 decades ago…and I really didn’t want to sell either of them due to positive childhood memories. But Charlie’s amicability, confidence and compassion, made me realize that I was making the right decision at the right time. I would have no compunction about recommending Charlie to anyone wanting to either purchase or sell real estate. In fact, if Lady Luck and fate ever lend a hand, Charlie will be the first person I will contact to purchase waterfront property in Lake Arrowhead with a private dock and make that dream a reality. Charlie exceeded all my expectations and eradicated any kind of apprehension I may have had with my first sale of a home. Prior to this sale, I had only been on the buying side of the negotiation table.  Charlie was extremely helpful not only in the local knowledge but also in answering questions and returning calls. Since we had minor changes needed to our newly purchased condo he had a list of vetted contractors which we used to complete minor remodeling. Since we 2-hrs from our vacation condo, Charlie made himself available to get the contractors into the unit to perform the necessary tasks.
